I would say that if you have such distrust for the care facility that your mother lives in, you should move her to another facility. Although many people do put "nanny cams" in their loved ones rooms, evidence obtained is not admissible in court - as both parties must consent to being recorded. Further, if your gut is telling you not to trust a care provider, you really must go with your gut. As far as personal belongings coming up missing, this is an unfortunate consequence of living in a place that multiple people have access to belongings. I would say, keep any personal belongings of value out of your mother's room.

That is not quite correct Gloria. It is legal to place a camera in a residents room by a family member here in Texas as long as certain conditions are met. It's called Authorized Electronic Monitoring. Please email me if you are interested in more information. donschmit@gmail.com
